Spring 5v5 Flag Football (Development-Focused): 

Our Spring Flag Football league is a fun, instructional offseason program designed to introduce young athletes to the fundamentals of football while building confidence, skills, and teamwork. Players are coached by dedicated volunteers through practice-based development (typically 1–2 practices per week at local I-SS school locations) and game play, with Spring placing a heavier emphasis on learning and growth than our more competition-focused Fall season.

Games follow a faster-paced 5v5 format (with a center snap) across our divisions (7U, 9U, 10U Girls, 13U Girls) and are played locally at Iredell County High Schools against teams within BAYAA and other Iredell County programs part of Iredell County Rec Football (GMYAA).

Games are scheduled on alternating weekends (every other weekend) based on the Spring Schedule (March - May)

Spring game format highlights:

• Spring games use the shorter 21-minute format with multiple games played on gamedays
• Offense starts at the 40-yard line and uses a structured downs system to earn a first down and score
• Safety-first play: no blocking/shielding, no tackling and no flag guarding
• Equipment: mouthguards required and soft shell headgear and/or guardian loops encouraged

Family involvement is encouraged. Parents become part of the Brawley Area Athletic family and enjoy supporting their children together at practices, games. Parents and friends can also be helpful as volunteer coaches, officials and timekeepers. Learn more about volunteering here!

Spring Registration is open Jan 18th through Feb 21th | Registration Fee = $75
